The Brading Centre
Did you know that this building, located on the forecourt of the primary school on West St, is a vibrant centre of activity offering a wide range of services? In addition to the Town Clerk’s office, the reception offers a warm welcome and advice, including help to complete forms, to visitors and residents.
There is a book-share library which is free to everyone and, at the last count, held more than 3000 books to choose from. All subjects including fiction, non-fiction and reference books can be found on the shelves. There is also a separate children’s library which is run in conjunction with Brading Primary School.
The centre is the new home for Brading’s Post Office which is open to the public on Mondays 11 – 3, Wednesday 11 – 2 and Fridays 3 – 6. All normal post office services are available including renewing your road tax for your car.
Computers are available for public use and we can offer computer lessons on the basics if required.
Use of computers and the broadband connection to email and the internet is free to Brading residents once registered with the Centre as an approved user.
Rooms are available for meetings, subject to availability, and , if you are a local community group, there is no charge.
Green bags, required for the disposal of garden waste, and dog poo bags can be purchased here. We also offer a photocopying service, as well as laminating all at a reasonable cost. The centre can be contacted on 01983 401770 during opening hours which are Monday to Thursday from 9 – 12 or by email to Townclerk@brading.gov.uk
