Policies and Procedures

Policies and Procedures

There are certain rules that govern how Brading Town Council operates.  Below is a list of Brading Town Council’s policies and procedures.

Members Code of Conduct

All councillors have agreed to observe the Member Code of Conduct which sets out the rules governing the behaviour of councillors.

Complaints Procedure

If you have a complaint about the work of the Council, a member of staff or a councillor please follow the process set out in our Complaints Procedure.

Transparency Code

The Local Government Transparency Code 2014 was introduced to meet the Government’s desire to place more power into citizens’ hands to increase democratic accountability and make it easier for local people to contribute to the local decision making process and help shape public services.  The Government believes that transparency is the foundation of local accountability and the key that gives people the tools and information they need to enable them to play a bigger role in society.

Brading Town Council’s Transparency Policy identifies what Brading Town Council is required to publish where relevant.

Public Speaking at Meetings

All members of the public are welcome to attend any Full Council or Committee meeting at which they are entitled to make a public representation.
