Letter of Apology

Carriageway Resurfacing Works in High Street, Brading

Dear Councillor Tyndall, Councillor Murwill & Brading Town Council

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by our work to resurface Brading High Street which began last night (Sept 7).  As you know this start date was a day earlier than that communicated to residents via letter and the information boards that have been placed on site.

As I hope you will appreciate, our work programme is subject to change due to numerous factors but the change affecting the Brading scheme should have been relayed to residents and business. Human error meant this communication did not occur and, once again, we sincerely apologise for this oversight.

In addition, it appears residents of Quay Lane were not informed of the works and we will be writing to them apologising for this.

We are taking steps to ensure that these issues do not happen in the future.

This resurfacing project is a three-night scheme that will be completed, weather permitting, on the nights of September 8 and 11.

Many thanks for your understanding.

Yours faithfully,

Island Roads
